Are you a Theologian?

Martian Luther said, “it takes three things to make a theologian”.
Prayer is the proper position to seek to understand scripture.
Study is meditation on the word of God. To ruminate on the word, read and reread. To stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us who have written truthful words about the Word.
Psalm 1:2-3 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
Affliction - Theologians are formed through the application of the Word of God in life’s trials and experience. A. W. Tozer wrote, “It is highly doubtful that God can use a man until he has hurt deeply.”

What an anti-American thought! God can't use a man until he has hurt deeply-so not what our society wants to hear...
