Thinking less of you

Colossians 3:1-4 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
Over and over and over again I am lifted (and there really is a feeling of lightness) by intentionally applying this passage. Sometimes I have to say to myself STOP! STOP IT! Stop thinking about that conversation that did not go the way you wanted it. Stop thinking if only I had not done….. and Stop wishing I had gobs of money so I could help all those I know who are in need, build a great church, start a cohousing community and fund a church planting movement. STOP IT! And start to intentionally focus on Jesus who is with you hear and now. I am reminded of something Henri Nouwen wrote, “The real enemies of our life are the "oughts" and the "ifs." They pull us backward into the unalterable past and forward into the unpredictable future. But real life takes place in the here and the now. God is a God of the present. God is always in the moment, be that moment hard or easy, joyful or painful.” (Here and Now: Living in the Spirit.)
What about you? What gives wings to your feet? What lifts your soul? How does this powerful passage work in and on you? Doug ><>
